FARO
De hoofdstad van de Algarve heeft veel meer te bieden dan alleen de luchthaven die toch nog 8km verder ligt.
The capital city of the Algarve has much more to offer than the airport 8 km away.
Faro has a historic, old neighbourhood called “Bairro Ribeirinho” that has a labyrinth of streets to explore and many restaurants and clubs. Generations of party-goers meet up in this city.
2 km from the airport in Montenegro, you will find Faro’s beach island, “Ilha do Faro” with the nature park “Rio Formosa” in between, which has beautiful lagoons. Ideal for fans of water sports, bird watching or beaches. The beach taxis take you to many different islands. (www.ilha-deserta.com)
LAGOS
Lagos is without a doubt the most important attraction in the region. The former capital of the Algarve is the last big city you come across before you enter Portugal’s “wild west”. It has a rich history and many interesting sights. This is also the end of the Algarve’s motorway.
